Coronavirus - office closures, home visits and repairs Posted on 18 March 2020

In line with Government guidance aimed at slowing the spread of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) in Northern Ireland, Clanmil Housing Association will close its offices to members of the public from 5pm on Wednesday 18 March 2020 until further notice.

We are also introducing measures to help us deliver essential services safely to the people who live in our homes during this time. This includes minimising face-to-face contact as much as possible to ensure the safety of our team, tenants, residents and contractors.

Home Visits

Until further notice, home visits will be significantly reduced. Our staff and contractors will implement an enhanced risk assessment prior to visiting any home or scheme, effective immediately. This will involve tenants answering a few questions regarding their household's health and recent travel before a decision will be made on a home visit.

Repairs Service

As a result of restrictions being implemented by some contractors, internal repairs must now be limited to emergency and essential work only. Non-essential repairs will not be carried out at this time.

External repairs and repairs to vacant properties will continue as normal for now.

We are asking tenants to continue to log non-essential repairs as usual, so that they can be addressed when normal service resumes.

Clare McCarty, Clanmil Group Chief Executive, said:

"I apologise for any inconvenience these measures may cause for the people who live in our homes and ask for your understanding and support as we work to continue to deliver services to you in very challenging circumstances.

We must all do what we can to slow the spread of this virus. This, together with our desire to ensure the safety of you, our tenants and residents, and that of our staff and contractors, has led us to introduce these measures.

We work with a range of partners and contractors to deliver our services. Any further changes they make to their working practices may also affect our service delivery going forward.

We will provide regular updates as the situation evolves."
