People living in Weavers Grange in Newtownards, enjoyed an action-packed family fun day just before Easter.

Activities included a bouncy castle, crafts, face painting, an assault course, kiddies’ corner, football coaching sessions and a barbecue. 

The event was funded by the Clanmil Neighbourhood Fund, which has also paid for three new picnic tables for Weavers Grange. 

Linzi Webb, Neighbourhood Services Officer with Clanmil said residents have put in a huge amount of effort planning the events, and were delighted it has gone so well:

“People who live in Weavers Grange were very keen to work with us and include the whole community in this fun-packed event. It’s been lovely to see everyone working together to organise a family event that everyone enjoyed.”

Congratulations to Connie, Riley, Lexie, and Georgia - winners of the colouring in competition. They were presented with their prizes by Constable Smith of Newtownards Neighbourhood Policing Team. 

Constable Smith said: “It is great to see the community coming together to provide a fun-filled afternoon for everyone who lives in Weavers Grange.”

Angela Bingham, who lives in Weavers Grange said: “It means a lot to the those who live here to be able to come out and come together in such a positive way - even speaking to new residents that we wouldn’t normally see, and seeing the kids interact has been great.”

She added: “This event has brought everyone together - it’s like a family community here in Weavers Grange now. Special thanks to Clanmil for organising the event.”
